Acorn’s “Contract of Indemnity” – peace of mind that you will never be charged for our courtesy cars.
We provide our courtesy vehicles to you totally free of all rental charges. The way we see it, why should you be out of pocket for something that was not your fault? We even go so far as to require a “Contract of Indemnity” be signed when hiring the vehicle. This document legally indemnifies you from paying all charges! It also subrogates to Acorn your right to recover the rental charges from the at fault insurance company.
So how does it work? We effectively provide the accident replacement vehicle to you on “credit”. You drive it while your car is in the panel shop for repair. At the end of the rental period we send through our invoice on your behalf to the at fault insurance company. They then pay us direct for the rental period. If there is any dispute or the insurance company does not pay our costs you are totally protected by our Contract of Indemnity, meaning no rental charges can be passed on to you.
- Petrol – the cars come out with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank.
- Tolls – we recommend using your own E-Tag in the rental vehicle, any tolls received during your rental period will be passed on to you
- Excess – our insurance excess ($385) is payable in the event of an at-fault accident in one of our cars
- Fines – any traffic infringements incurred during the rental period are your responsibility
We do not require any credit card details or deposits/bonds of any kind. It is for this reason, as well as our contract of indemnity and our extra low insurance excess of just $385 that we offer the best terms for an accident replacement vehicle in Australia.
Of course if you have not been involved in an accident and would like to simply rent a car we are also able to provide this service. Please click here for a current list of our daily rental rates.
